St. Croix 2014 holiday season has begun

Every year on St. Croix we look forward to the arrival of December for not only does it mean holidays it means a lot of partying for the entire month. This year we started a little early with Jump Up Friday in Christiansted and the Starving Artists sale at Whim on Sunday. Since i'm busy trying to get the house ready for our holiday guests this blog will be photo heavy.
Parking is always a problem so we parked out and walked in along the boardwalk to get in some shopping before the party started.
The lighting on the moored boats was lovely.
We wandered around and i
took a shot of the street before it was filled with people.

Bands were setting up
and the streets were starting to fill.
Vendors were on the sides and
the Mocko Jumbies showed up to entertain the crowds. Loud music was playing everywhere.
The Comache had its tree up
and over by Galangal their lighting was unusual, but very cool for a photo junkie.
The next morning we had a swim in Frederiksted so i took a shot there of a very cool church, the cleaner let me in while he was working.
Where can a kid sit in church and gaze out at the ocean? i might have liked church more if i could have gone to this one.
And how about a rest on this colorful pink bench?

The Roseway plies the North Shore and i got this not so great photo from a friends house.
Sunday was Whim and the Starving Artists Sale...

always a good place to pick up gifts and schmooze with friends

or wander around and look at the old sugar plantation workings. So that's it for today see ya next week.
